Target Information
Mouse 72 kDa Type IV Collagenase (MMP2) is a matrix metalloproteinase that degrades type IV collagen and other components of the basement membrane. It plays a role in tissue invasion and metastasis. MMP2 is involved in various physiological processes, including embryonic development, wound healing, and angiogenesis. Dysregulation of MMP2 has been implicated in diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases. It contributes to tumor progression by degrading the basement membrane and facilitating tumor cell migration.
