H3L is a major immunodominant envelope protein located on the membrane of the intracellular mature virus (IMV). This makes it a cornerstone antigen for the development of subunit vaccines, therapeutic antibodies, and high-sensitivity serological diagnostic assays for Monkeypox and other orthopoxviruses.
