Target Information

LSDV060 is a highly conserved, myristylated transmembrane protein located on the surface of the Intracellular Mature Virion (IMV). As a homolog of the Vaccinia virus L1R protein, it is a key component of the viral Entry Fusion Complex. It is essential for virion assembly and mediates the fusion of the viral envelope with the host cell membrane. Due to its critical function in the infection cycle and its ability to elicit potent neutralizing antibodies, LSDV060 is a primary candidate for subunit vaccines and a target for sensitive serological diagnostic ELISAs.
