Target Information

LSDV122 is a critical immunomodulatory glycoprotein found in the Lumpy Skin Disease Virus. Recent studies identify it as a potent antagonist of Type I Interferon (IFN-I) signaling. It works by interacting with both IFNAR1 and IFNAR2 subunits, preventing the assembly of the receptor complex and the subsequent activation of the JAK-STAT pathway. This suppression of host innate immunity is essential for viral virulence and efficient replication. Due to its role in immune evasion, LSDV122 is a primary target for the development of live-attenuated vaccines.
