Target Information
Goat urocortin is a neuropeptide that belongs to the corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) family. It plays a role in modulating stress behavior and homeostasis. Urocortin activates CRF2 receptors, which helps in reducing anxiety and stress, contrasting with other CRF family proteins that typically increase stress responses. It is involved in suppressing food intake, delaying gastric emptying, and decreasing heat-induced edema. In goats, Urocortin contributes to maintaining homeostasis after stress and may represent an endogenous ligand for these functions.
