Target Information
Goat CCN family member 2, also known as connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), is a protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of extracellular matrix production, cell adhesion, and migration in goats. It is particularly important for chondrogenesis, angiogenesis, and fibrogenesis, promoting the proliferation and differentiation of chondrocytes, osteoblasts, and vascular endothelial cells. CCN2 also stimulates the synthesis of matrix proteins including collagens and fibronectin, and is involved in endochondral ossification, a process where cartilage is replaced by bone. Furthermore, CCN2 has been shown to protect articular cartilage from age-related degenerative changes, suggesting an anti-aging effect.
