Target Information
In felines, phosducin (PDC) is a highly conserved phosphoprotein mainly expressed in the retina and pineal gland. It regulates phototransduction by binding to G protein βγ subunits. PDC plays a key role in light adaptation by inhibiting the reassembly of G protein subunits. It also participates in transcriptional control and blood pressure regulation. Abnormal PDC expression may be linked to retinal diseases.
