Target Information

VP2 is the primary structural component of the Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV), constituting approximately 90% of the viral capsid. It plays a decisive role in host range determination, antigenicity, and hemagglutination. VP2 interacts directly with the host transferrin receptor (TfR) to facilitate viral entry. Due to its ability to self-assemble into highly immunogenic virus-like particles (VLPs), VP2 is a critical target for diagnostic assays and the development of next-generation subunit vaccines against feline distemper.
