Target Information
Feline neuromodulin (GAP43) is a key neuronal protein involved in axonal growth, regeneration, and synaptic plasticity. In cats, GAP43 is highly expressed in developing or regenerating neurons, playing a crucial role in nerve repair and axon guidance. It is also involved in calcium/calmodulin signaling, which affects neuronal function and plasticity. GAP43 is localized in axonal growth cones and presynaptic areas, where it regulates cytoskeletal organization and vesicle recycling. Its phosphorylation by protein kinase C (PKC) is associated with synaptic plasticity and memory formation.
