Target Information
Feline interferon alpha 2 (IFNA2) is a type I interferon that plays a critical role in the feline immune response to viral infections. It is secreted by cells in response to viral invasion and helps inhibit viral replication by activating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. IFNA2 also enhances the expression of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs), which are crucial for the host's antiviral defense. This protein contributes to the modulation of immune responses and is particularly important for the activation of natural killer (NK) cells and the cytotoxic activity of CD8+ T cells.
