Target Information
Feline Herpesvirus 1 (FeHV-1) is a highly contagious, double-stranded DNA alphaherpesvirus that serves as a primary pathogen for upper respiratory and ocular diseases in domestic and wild felids. It targets mucosal epithelial cells, establishing lifelong latency within the trigeminal ganglia. Major therapeutic and diagnostic target genes include envelope glycoproteins (such as gB, gD, and gH) critical for viral entry and host cell fusion, alongside the viral thymidine kinase (TK) gene essential for DNA replication.
