Target Information
In felines, hemoglobin subunit alpha (HBA) is a key component of hemoglobin, involved in transporting oxygen from the lungs to peripheral tissues. HBA is expressed in both major hemoglobin components, HbA (α²βA²) and HbB (α²βB²). Additionally, HBA is associated with endothelial cell function, regulating vascular tone and function. Abnormalities in HBA may be linked to anemia and other blood disorders.
