Target Information
Feline E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase mdm2 (MDM2) is a critical protein involved in regulating cell survival and proliferation. In cats, MDM2 acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, targeting proteins such as p53 for degradation, thereby inhibiting apoptosis and promoting cell survival. It plays a key role in tumorigenesis by enhancing cell proliferation and metastasis through mechanisms involving epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and angiogenesis. Additionally, MDM2 can modulate the tumor immune microenvironment, leading to immune tolerance and evasion. In cancer therapy, targeting MDM2 is a promising strategy to enhance immune checkpoint inhibitor efficacy and overcome resistance.
