Target Information
Feline Calicivirus (FCV) is a highly contagious virus that represents a leading cause of upper respiratory infections and oral disease in cats worldwide. It spreads rapidly through direct contact with saliva, nasal discharge, and eye secretions, or via contaminated environments. While mild cases cause sneezing, nasal congestion, and painful mouth ulcers, virulent strains can lead to severe systemic disease, pneumonia, or even death. Prevention relies heavily on vaccination, strict hygiene, and isolating infected cats to manage outbreaks effectively.
