Target Information

CSFV E2 is the major envelope surface glycoprotein of Classical Swine Fever Virus and a primary target for neutralizing antibodies. It plays a critical role in viral attachment to host receptors and facilitates membrane fusion. Structurally, E2 exists as a homodimer or a heterodimer with E1. As the most immunogenic protein of the virus, it is the central component in the development of recombinant subunit vaccines and diagnostic ELISAs for detecting swine fever infections.
