Target Information

Chicken Transcription Factor JunD (JUND) is a member of the AP-1 transcription factor family. It can act as both a transcriptional activator and repressor. In chickens, JUND is involved in regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. It is also important in the immune response and stress response. For example, JUND can inhibit the transcription of the Smad2 gene, thereby promoting female sex differentiation in chickens. Abnormal expression of JUND is associated with various diseases, including cancer, where it can influence tumor growth and metastasis.
