Chicken Nucleophosmin (NPM1) is a multifunctional protein mainly involved in ribosome biogenesis and cell proliferation. It shuttles between the cell nucleus and cytoplasm, playing an important role in maintaining normal cell growth and division. NPM1 is also involved in the replication and gene expression regulation of certain viruses.
