Target Information

Chicken Interleukin-12 Subunit Beta (IL-12B) is a critical subunit of Interleukin-12 (IL-12), primarily produced by macrophages, dendritic cells, and Langerhans cells. IL-12B combines with the IL-12A subunit to form the active IL-12 heterodimer, which activates T cells and natural killer cells, promoting interferon-γ (IFN-γ) production and enhancing cellular immune responses . In chickens, IL-12B not only participates in immune regulation but also serves as a vaccine adjuvant to enhance the host's immune response to pathogens. Additionally, IL-12B is expressed in the gut mucosa of chickens, and its expression levels change in response to Eimeria tenella infection, contrasting with IL-10, indicating its role in regulating the Th1/Th2 balance.
