Target Information
Chicken Heat Shock Factor Protein 1 (HSF1) is a critical transcription factor that regulates the expression of heat shock proteins (HSPs) in response to stress, playing a central role in maintaining cellular homeostasis. HSF1 is essential for the transcriptional activation of the heat shock response (HSR), which protects cells from damage caused by heat and other stressors. In unstressed cells, HSF1 exists in an inactive monomeric form, but it undergoes homotrimerization and translocates to the nucleus upon exposure to stress, binding to heat shock elements (HSEs) in the promoters of HSP genes to activate their transcription. In chickens, HSF1 is highly conserved and shares significant sequence similarity with its mammalian orthologs. It is involved in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation and survival under stress conditions. Abnormal regulation of HSF1 has been implicated in several diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for studying stress response pathways and potential therapeutic interventions.
