Target Information
Chicken Annexin A6 (ANXA6) is a multifunctional protein that belongs to the annexin family, characterized by its calcium-dependent binding to phospholipids. It is predominantly found at the plasma membrane and endosomal compartments, where it acts as a scaffold protein, recruiting signaling proteins and modulating membrane transport and actin dynamics. ANXA6 plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, survival, differentiation, and inflammation. It is also involved in membrane repair and viral infection. In chickens, ANXA6 has been shown to modulate cranial neural crest emigration. Abnormal expression of ANXA6 has been implicated in cancer cell migration and invasion, where it promotes tumor aggressiveness by supporting the formation of AnxA6-containing complexes on exosomes.
