Target Information
The growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), also known as somatocrinin, is encoded by the GHRH gene in goats. This hormone is released from the neurosecretory nerve terminals of arcuate neurons and transported via the hypothalamo-hypophyseal portal system to the anterior pituitary gland. There, it binds to the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor, stimulating the secretion of growth hormone (GH).
