Canine Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF-alpha) is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine primarily secreted by activated macrophages and monocytes.3 It serves as a master regulator of the acute phase reaction and systemic inflammation in dogs. By binding to its receptors, TNFR1 and TNFR2, it modulates diverse biological processes including cell proliferation, apoptosis, and lipid metabolism. In veterinary medicine, TNF-alpha is a central biomarker and therapeutic target for canine inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), osteoarthritis, and various septic or autoimmune conditions.
