Target Information
Canine tight junction protein ZO-1 (TJP1) is a scaffolding protein that plays a pivotal role in the structure and function of tight junctions in canine cells. TJP1 connects transmembrane proteins of the tight junction to the actin cytoskeleton, ensuring the integrity of epithelial and endothelial cell layers. This protein is crucial for regulating the paracellular transport of solutes and water, maintaining cell polarity, and participating in signal transduction processes that influence cell proliferation and differentiation. In dogs, TJP1 is essential for the health of tissues that have epithelial or endothelial barriers, such as the gastrointestinal tract and blood vessels.
