Target Information

Interleukin 5 is encoded by the IL5 gene in dogs. This cytokine acts as an eosinophil differentiation and activation factor, predominantly produced by type 2 T helper lymphocytes. By binding to the interleukin-5 receptor, it promotes B cell growth and enhances the secretion of immunoglobulins, mainly IgA. Additionally, Interleukin 5 stands as a crucial mediator in the activation of eosinophils.
