Target Information
In canines, the hemoglobin subunit beta (HBB) is a component of hemoglobin, responsible for oxygen transport in the blood. However, research shows that HBD, another beta-globin subunit, is more dominant in adult dogs. HBB has high sequence divergence and is expressed at lower levels compared to HBD. It also plays a role in optimizing mRNA translation efficiency in canine mesenchymal stem cells, which can enhance their therapeutic effects.
