Target Information
Canine CD47 is a ubiquitously expressed transmembrane glycoprotein that functions as a critical immune checkpoint. By interacting with Signal Regulatory Protein alpha (SIRPalpha) on macrophages, it transmits a potent "don't eat me" signal, inhibiting phagocytosis. In veterinary oncology, CD47 is frequently overexpressed by canine tumors, such as lymphoma and osteosarcoma, to evade immune surveillance. Targeting the CD47-SIRPalpha axis represents a frontier in canine immunotherapy, aiming to restore macrophage-mediated clearance of malignant cells.
