CD19, a B-cell coreceptor, is a transmembrane protein expressed throughout B-cell ontogeny, from the pro-B cell stage to the plasmablast stage. It is essential for B-cell development and function, making it a promising target for antibody-directed immunotherapies against B-cell malignancies. In dogs, CD19 is encoded by the CD19 gene.
