Target Information
Brucella BP26 Antigen is an immunodominant periplasmic protein found across various Brucella species, including B. abortus, B. melitensis, and B. suis. Structurally forming a multimeric channel-like configuration, this soluble outer membrane-associated protein triggers a robust humoral immune response in infected hosts. Due to its high conservation and immunogenicity, BP26 is widely targeted in serological diagnostic assays (such as ELISAs) and serves as a vital marker to differentiate infected from vaccinated animals (DIVA) in livestock brucellosis eradication programs.
