Target Information
The MPB70-MPB83 fusion Antigen is a engineered recombinant protein combining two highly homologous, immunodominant target proteins natively expressed by Mycobacterium bovis. While MPB70 is a soluble secreted molecule, MPB83 is a surface-bound lipoprotein; both feature structurally critical internal disulfide loops. This chimeric construct pairs their key linear and conformational B-cell epitopes, generating enhanced immunoreactivity. Minimally expressed by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and absent in many non-tuberculous mycobacteria, this fusion antigen serves as a specific, high-throughput marker for serological enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) used in bovine tuberculosis herd surveillance.
