Target Information
Bovine sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH), also known as L-iditol 2-dehydrogenase, is a zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase that catalyzes the interconversion of polyols like sorbitol and xylitol to their respective ketoses. It is a key enzyme in the polyol pathway, which provides a means for the body to produce fructose from glucose without ATP consumption. SDH is widely distributed in tissues, particularly in the liver, kidney, and seminal vesicles, and serves as a sensitive marker for liver necrosis.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with dry ice. It is recommended to aliquot as needed and store at -80°C upon receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4°C for 1 week, at < -80°C for 12 months. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
