Target Information
Bovine signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) is a critical protein involved in the regulation of cell growth, survival, and differentiation in cattle. It is activated by various cytokines and growth factors, leading to the transmission of signals from the cell membrane to the nucleus where it functions as a transcription factor. STAT3 is particularly important in energy metabolism, immune response, and the development of tissues such as muscle and fat. It has also been implicated in the regulation of follicular development and oocyte maturation in Bovine reproduction. Genetic variants of STAT3 have been associated with body size traits, making it a significant factor in the molecular breeding of cattle for improved growth and development.
