Target Information
Sex-determining region Y protein (SRY), also known as testis-determining factor (TDF), is a DNA-binding protein and gene-regulatory protein responsible for initiating male sex determination in therian mammals, including placental mammals and marsupials. In cattle, the bovine sex-determining region Y protein is encoded by the SRY gene. This gene is located on the Y chromosome and encodes a protein comprising 229 amino acids.
