Target Information
Bovine Protein S100-A10 (S100A10), also known as p11, is a unique member of the S100 protein family that does not bind Ca²⁺. It forms a heterotetrameric complex with annexin A2, which is involved in various cellular processes including membrane trafficking, fusion, and cytoskeletal reorganization. This complex also facilitates the conversion of plasminogen into plasmin, a serine protease that degrades the extracellular matrix (ECM) and promotes inflammation and tissue remodeling. In bovine systems, S100A10 is implicated in immune responses, particularly in macrophage recruitment and activation. Elevated levels of S100A10 are associated with various cancers, where it promotes tumor growth, invasiveness, and metastasis.
