Target Information

Bovine ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) is an enzyme that plays a pivotal role in the urea cycle, catalyzing the conversion of L-ornithine and carbamoyl phosphate into L-citrulline, which is essential for the detoxification of ammonia in mammals. This process is crucial for maintaining amino acid homeostasis, particularly for L-glutamine and L-arginine, and is predominantly expressed in the liver and intestine of Bovines.
