Target Information
Bovine interleukin 2 (IL-2) is a pleotropic cytokine renowned for its role as a T cell growth factor in immunology. It has both immunostimulatory and immunosuppressive effects, optimizing immunological microenvironments for effector and regulatory T cell responses. In cattle, IL-2 is crucial for deciding whether T cell responses against specific antigens result in protection. It can enhance the proliferation of Bovine peripheral mononuclear blood cells and strongly induce the proliferation of Bovine NKp46+ natural killer (NK) cells in vitro, indicating its potential to boost NK cell populations and protective immunity.
