Bovine Fatty Acid Binding Protein 6 (FABP6) is a key protein involved in lipid metabolism, particularly in the transport and regulation of bile acids. It is highly expressed in the distal small intestine, where it plays a crucial role in maintaining bile acid homeostasis by facilitating the reabsorption of bile acids. FABP6 has a high affinity for bile acids and can also bind other ligands, including fatty acids and progesterone.
