Target Information
Bovine C-X-C motif chemokine 10 (CXCL10), also known as Interferon Gamma-Induced Protein 10 (IP-10), is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It is characterized by its role in immune responses, particularly in attracting activated T cells, monocytes, and natural killer cells to sites of inflammation or infection. CXCL10 is secreted by various cell types in response to interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and plays a significant role in the Th1-mediated immune response. In cattle, CXCL10 is involved in the recruitment of immune cells to combat pathogens and is associated with the modulation of inflammatory responses. It is also implicated in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including viral infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer, due to its influence on immune cell trafficking and activation.
