Target Information
Bovine Apolipoprotein A-V (APOA5) is a key protein involved in lipid metabolism, primarily expressed in the liver. It plays a crucial role in regulating triglyceride (TG) levels by enhancing the catabolism of TG-rich lipoproteins, such as chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), through the activation of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) . APOA5 is also involved in intracellular TG metabolism, influencing the production and maturation of VLDL particles . Deficiencies in APOA5 have been associated with hypertriglyceridemia (HTG) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) . In bovine systems, APOA5 is essential for maintaining lipid homeostasis and preventing metabolic disorders related to lipid metabolism. It is also implicated in the regulation of plasma lipid levels and cardiovascular health .
