Target Information
Bovine Apolipoprotein A-IV, encoded by the APOA4 gene in cattle, serves as a lipid-binding protein. It is predominantly synthesized in the small intestine, where it is packaged into chylomicrons and secreted into intestinal lymph during fat absorption. While most mammals, including humans, limit apo A-IV synthesis to the intestine, mice and rats exhibit hepatic synthesis as well. Notably, intestinal fat absorption significantly enhances the production and release of apo A-IV.
