Target Information

The Gag polyprotein is the essential structural precursor of Avian Leukosis Virus (ALV), driving viral assembly and budding. It is proteolytically processed by the viral protease into several mature subunits: p19 (matrix), p10, p27 (capsid), p12 (nucleocapsid), and p15 (protease). Gag mediates the selection and packaging of the viral RNA genome via its zinc-finger motifs and coordinates with host cellular machinery for membrane trafficking, making it a pivotal target for antiretroviral research and diagnostic development.
