Target Information
Anaplasma is a genus of obligate intracellular, Gram-negative bacteria transmitted by ixodid ticks, primarily causing anaplasmosis in ruminants, canines, and humans. These pathogens selectively infect mature erythrocytes or granulocytes, replicating within membrane-bound vacuoles. Key diagnostic and therapeutic targets include major surface proteins such as MSP1a, MSP2, and MSP4, which are critical for host cell adhesion, infection, and tick vector colonization, as well as tools for antigenic variation used to evade host immune responses.
