Target Information

The E184L protein is a conserved structural protein of the African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) localized within the inner envelope of the virion. Encoded by the E184L gene, it is expressed during the late phase of the viral infection cycle. E184L is essential for viral replication and is involved in the complex morphogenesis of the icosahedral particle. Specifically, it contributes to the recruitment and remodeling of host-derived membranes to form the viral envelope, acting as a critical bridge in the assembly of the mature, infectious virus.
