Target Information
Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), also known by names such as leukocytic pyrogen, leukocytic endogenous mediator, mononuclear cell factor, and lymphocyte activating factor, is a cytokine protein. IL-1β is a key mediator of acute and chronic inflammation. It induces the production of other pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules. It contributes to fever, pain, and tissue damage. Research indicates that the IL1B/IL1R1 system is expressed in the reproductive tracts of both male and female rabbits, suggesting that IL1B in seminal plasma may impact uterine endocrine activity.
