Tartrazine is a 534-Da synthetic azo dye whose pyrazolone-sulfonate structure creates a bright yellow hapten; a solvent-exposed 6-aa "KVE" hapten (sulfonated pyrazole) linked to carrier presents a fixation-stable epitope unique among food colorants. Antibodies to this conjugate detect tartrazine in beverages, pharmaceutical coatings and tissue sections, yielding crisp extracellular precipitates and single-band blots without cross-reaction to sunset yellow or azorubine.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
