Target Information
Rat scavenger receptor class B member 1 (SR-B1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the scavenger receptor family. It features conserved extracellular ligand-binding domains, two transmembrane segments and a cytoplasmic tail with signaling motifs critical for structural stability. It localizes to cell membrane lipid rafts, with tissue-specific expression in rat liver, adrenal glands and macrophages, with low levels in non-metabolic tissues. The protein mediates selective lipid uptake and ligand binding, with conserved motifs for intermolecular interaction. Rat SR-B1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct ligand specificity differentiating it from SR-A1 and other class B receptors.
