Specifications
Target Information
Rat relaxin (RLN) is a 6-kDa peptide hormone primarily synthesized in rat corpus luteum, with detectable expression in the prostate and placenta. It belongs to the insulin superfamily, forming heterodimers that bind relaxin receptors (RXFP1/RXFP2) to activate signaling cascades. It regulates reproductive physiology-including uterine relaxation, cervical ripening, and maternal tissue remodeling during pregnancy. Beyond reproduction, it modulates cardiovascular function, collagen turnover, and wound healing in rat tissues. As a multifunctional hormone linking reproductive and systemic homeostasis, rat RLN is a critical target for studying reproductive disorders, pregnancy-related physiology, and tissue remodeling mechanisms.
