Specifications
Target Information
Rat regenerating islet derived protein 4 (REG4) is a secreted lectin-like protein encoded by the Reg4 gene in Rattus norvegicus, localized to chromosome 1. It belongs to the regenerating gene family, with a conserved C-type lectin domain and a signal peptide for extracellular secretion, and a molecular weight of approximately 19 kDa. REG4 distributes predominantly in rat gastrointestinal tract, pancreatic islets and intestinal epithelial cells, with tissue-restricted expression patterns. It harbors conserved structural motifs critical for its biological functions, mediating cell proliferation, differentiation and mucosal barrier maintenance. The rat REG4 shares high sequence homology with mammalian orthologs, with distinct functional domains that distinguish it from other members of the REG protein family.
