Specifications
Target Information
Rat regenerating islet-derived protein 3 beta (Reg3b) is a 175-residue secreted C-type lectin bearing an N-terminal signal peptide, a conserved carbohydrate-recognition domain that coordinates Ca²⁺ through two extended loops, and a short hydrophobic tail. The mature polypeptide forms disulfide-linked dimers and higher-order fibrils via intermolecular cysteine bridges, yielding a 16 kDa monomer and 32 kDa dimer under reducing and non-reducing conditions, respectively. Constitutively expressed in pancreatic acinar cells and up-regulated in intestinal crypts, Reg3b localizes to the luminal surface of mucosal epithelium. Antibodies raised against recombinant rat Reg3b detect native dimers and monomers with negligible cross-reactivity to Reg3a or Reg3g, enabling precise immunoblot and immunohistochemical detection in rat tissue homogenates and sections.
