Rat PK2 belongs to a family of secreted regulatory proteins with a signature cysteine-rich domain architecture. It maintains consistent molecular integrity under physiological states and carries evolutionarily preserved peptide motifs. As an extracellular secreted protein, it distributes in tissue interstitial spaces and bodily fluids, differing distinctly from intracellular enzymes, nuclear regulators and transmembrane receptor protein families.
