Rat NXF1 is a nucleocytoplasmic transport protein with conserved RNA-binding and nuclear pore-interacting domains that sustain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It exists in nearly all somatic cell populations and assembles into ribonucleoprotein complexes to mediate intracellular RNA trafficking. Its multi-domain shuttling architecture and ubiquitous tissue expression distinguish it from secreted signaling cytokines, transmembrane cell surface receptors and cytoplasmic metabolic enzymes with simplified single-domain assemblies confined to narrow specialized cell subgroups.
